Urban Sustainability Leadership Academy (USLA)

USLA helps Roxborough High School youth thrive in the 21st century by helping them to enroll and stay at post-secondary institutions, and to be competent and proficient in the workplace. We offer an entrepreneurship curriculum that operates year-round as well as pairing students with internships and service learning opportunities.

During the summer, teens serve in the hospitality, education services, community development, healthcare, social services, childcare, and finance industries working up to 102 hours at a work site for six weeks. An additional 18 hours of the internship are spent at North Light for mandatory professional development seminars for a total of 120 hours for the summer. During the school year, participants work 60-hours.

More than 80% of our students graduate high school and enroll at post-secondary schools.
