Emergency Assistance

Friends in Supply Help (FISH)

FISH provides food to more than 900 individuals annually.

North Light Community Center’s Community Food Cupboard provides varied nutrition to constituents who depend on our program to supplement and sustain their households.

Through FISH we distribute nonperishable food, vouchers to local supermarkets, and fresh produce to families who need it most.

Through a partnership with Shop Rite and Philabundance, we access the Greater Philadelphia Food Bank. We also receive support from over 20 faith-based organizations, schools, Villanova University, businesses and individuals.

Fresh-grown produce from our Teens 4 Good urban farm and collaborations with Saul Agricultural School, Weaver’s Way Food Co-op and City Harvest increase the amount of fresh produce provided to FISH participants and help community residents learn how to prepare nourishing recipes.

The food cupboard is open for food distribution on:
Tuesdays 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Thursdays 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Community Utility and Fuel Fund (CUFF)
We provide direct assistance to individuals who need help paying utility and gas
bills, and help families access additional aid from programs such as LIHEAP, the
Philadelphia Crisis Fund and the Utility Emergency Services Fund.

Santa’s Helpers
Provides holiday gifts to families and meals to homebound and elderly individuals for
Christmas.
